ABOUT STACEY
Stacey Benson-Taylor is an unwavering advocate for working families and a servant leader who has made it her life's mission to make a difference in Montgomery County through educating, mentoring, and community service. With a strong record of advocating for workers' rights, she has dedicated her career to supporting people and communities across the region.

Appointed as the Montgomery County Recorder after the resignation of Recorder Brandon McClain, Stacey is committed to providing dependable, efficient, and trusted services that the county deserves. As a highly qualified professional with an associate degree in Paralegal Studies from Sinclair, a Bachelor of Science in Political Sciences with a minor in Sociology from Wright State University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law, Stacey has the expertise and experience to ensure that the county receives the best possible service.

Stacey's dedication to public service is evident in everything she does. She began her career at Delphi and later worked at the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office. She has served as an active union member and labor leader for the past three decades, including seven years with IUE and 25 years with AFSCME Ohio Council 8. As the Montgomery County Recorder, she has worked tirelessly to advocate on behalf of property owners by exposing deed fraud and proactively implementing necessary safeguards.

Through her community outreach and partnerships, Stacey has helped promote home buying and generational wealth, supported veteran initiatives and programs, and connected the community with the resources offered. Her leadership and commitment to service extend beyond her role as Montgomery County Recorder.
She is an active member of several organizations, including the Ohio Recorder's Association, the Montgomery County Farm Bureau, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the NAACP Executive Committee, MLK Inc. Advisory Board, the AFL-CIO Executive Board, the Public Defender Commission, and the Way of the Cross Gospel Ministries.

Stacey is the proud mother of Shawnte’ Benson, bonus daughters Tinisha Wilson, Raven and Jalynn McNeil, and grandmother to Bella, Navaria, and Shakur.
